ONE is a collection of Villanelles that come from a lifetime of madness, dysfunction, liberation and freedom. Writing these poems filled a need to put my experiences into existence outside my mind. My hope is that people will savor each one of these diverse poems and find bits of pieces of themselves and share the pieces of me that flowed through to gain recognition. My experiences are me. The Villanelle as I understand it was popular among lovers in the 1600's, I have used it for an entire range of emotions and events. I love this form and plan to continue using it as time goes on. These poems are the story of a lifetime that is shouting "I am here!" It serves as a permanent record of my struggle with madness, creativity, love, loss, morbidity, humor, and some times simple observations about the world around us. For anyone living in the turmoil of humanity, seeing the precious gems that can surprise us and ground us to the earth and it's inhabitants. I have loved passionately and hated vehemently as have we all and it is all in ONE. Read a page, delve into the meaning, take a day to spend with it, you may just find yourself.
