In The White Trail, Fflur Dafydd transforms the medieval Welsh Arthurian myth of 'Culhwch and Olwen' into a 21st-century quest for love and revenge. Cilydd's wife Goleuddydd, who is nine months pregnant, seems to vanish into thin air at a supermarket one wintry afternoon. Cilydd enlists his cousin, Arthur - a private eye who has never solved a single case - to help him with the investigation. So begins a tale of intrigue and confusion that ends with a wild boar chase and a dangerous journey to the House of the Missing. Fflur Dafydd was born in 1978 in Carmarthen. The recipient of many awards for her Welsh-language writing, most recently the 2009 Daniel Owen Memorial Prize, her first English novel, Twenty Thousand Saints (Alcemi, 2008), received the Oxfam Hay Emerging Writer of the Year Award at the Guardian Hay Festival in 2009. She was recently chosen by the British Council as the first ever Welsh participant on Iowa University's International Writing Program. We publiceren alleen reviews die voldoen aan de voorwaarden voor reviews.
