Beth and Nikki are in Japan studying martials with Master Sensei Kenji. Nikki is there to get better as a fighter and has Beth's blessing. Beth followed along to see if she could find the person that she once was inside. Together they go on a journey of friend and family as they test their minds, bodies, and souls. When an unexpected guest shows up at Kenji's Japanese Mountain Estate, Beth begins to wonder how much she's upset and touched the lives around her. She wonders if it is a good thing or a bad thing. As she struggles with her own self-worth, she battles the demons in her head and years of her father's disparaging words.
Nikki realizes that she may have finally bitten off more than she can handle when it comes to the training. She still wants to prove herself, now more than ever. She wants to make Beth proud, too. As she tries to deal with her own demons, she realizes that Beth is family and her sister. And, family is more than just blood. Together Nikki and Beth learn what it really means to be a sister warrior and walk the line of the samurai as they become Yamashimai.
