Trust the One

Trust the unique, authentic Designer, who created the Universe. He visited the world in human form and inhabits the hearts of those who know him. He is the only one you can rely on for your future. Beginning with every person's deep awareness of spiritual forces of good and evil prevalent in today's fast-moving world, this book takes you on a journey towards the Truth. Many significant reasons are given for believing that Planet Earth came into existence, not by accident or chance, but by the craftsmanship and purpose of a supernatural Creator. Much evidence points to the wisdom and high intelligence of this amazing Designer, who many refer to as 'God.' In contrast to all this we also recognise that there is an opposing dark force at work, tempting us to do evil. As a result we experience feelings of failure or guilt when we sense we have done the wrong thing. This can bring on depression, misery, hopelessness or melancholy, sometimes leading in the direction of self-harm or even suicide. People ask, 'If God really exists, why would he not explain what he expects of us?' My answer is that he has spoken through the beauty of his Creation, but more clearly and directly he guides us through the words of the Holy Bible. In the pages of that unique book God reveals his intentions for you, me and all humanity. He shows himself as a loving God, who simply requires our love in return for his. He makes us aware that when people have made bad choices they separate themselves from his presence. Evil decisions create a wide gulf between us and God. We lose our sense of being at peace with him. The Bible shows how God himself solved that problem by entering his own created world in the person of Jesus Christ, God's only Son. God had to find a way to balance his perfect love against his perfect justice. He loves every one of us, but we each have done wrong and deserve punishment. The sacrificial death of his Son was the only solution. Jesus took on himself the punishment we deserve in order to forgive our sin and restore our peace with God. He pleads with us to make a life-changing decision. Forgiveness is a free gift, but we have to reach out and receive it gratefully. This is a life-changing decision and he provides much encouragement and guidance towards maintaining that renewed peaceful relationship into the future. I've encouraged new believers to go through the waters of baptism, and explained the two symbolic reasons Jesus had in mind when he instituted this sacrament. Ultimately, whether our remaining days are many or few, our love of God, gratitude to Jesus and the promise of a place with him in Heaven spurs us on to a positive and rewarding lifestyle. My book wraps up by offering some answers and guidance on subjects including abortion, poverty, marriage, obesity, drugs, inebriation, vegetarianism, sex and conservation. Finally I emphasise the importance of joining a lively church, and I've included a workable plan to read the whole Bible along with a helpful Time Chart.
