This booklet attempts to approach the relationship between time and eternity through a collection of aphorisms. It includes both statements from philosophy and the natural sciences as well as the author's own reflections. Based on the concepts of time handed down from antiquity and the differentiation between chronos and kairos, considerations of time measurement, the loss of absolute time through the theory of relativity and the anchoring of the sense of time in human consciousness play an important role. The more physical considerations are followed by a recourse to the perspectives of eternity, as they were developed in particular under the concept of the nunc stan of scholasticism.
