If you enjoyed Twilight, you will enjoy Thirst. Born under a lunar eclipse blood moon, Narina finds herself cursed without a choice from birth. A birth under a blood moon creates a hunger, desire for blood that she doesn't realize will change her life forever. Narina, a normal teenager with a boyfriend, or so she thought until her sixteenth birthday. When she starts showing signs she is not human after all. A problem for her, as she lives in a village where vampires are forbidden and if you are caught talking with one you will be banished. As vampires and humans are not allowed contact between the two races, which have been at war for many years. And, will Narina be able to keep her changes from human to vampire from her boyfriend, who is a solider sworn to protect humans from the vampires, or will he turn on her and hunt her too? Will she be able to keep her secret from her village, or her own family?
As Narina tries to navigate through her new life, she finds herself drawn to a vampire. Zek confuses her, but she can't help feel a pull towards him.
Zek can feel the pull towards Narina, a newly turned vampire, but he doesn't exactly want anything to do with her. She has to tight of a link to the humans, and for him that could mean death for him. The humans are not open to finding ways to end the war, and that means the separation from those that could be neighbours instead of enemies will carry on. Zek doesn't understand why he has such as strong need to be near Narina though, what is it about her that makes him want to go against everything he has done to keep himself safe?
