Omschrijving

The Red Mill is a musical comedy written by Henry Blossom and first published in 1906. Set in the Netherlands, the story follows the misadventures of two American vaudeville performers, Con and Kid, who find themselves stranded in a small Dutch village. They take refuge in a windmill, which happens to be the property of the beautiful and headstrong Gretchen, who runs the local inn. Gretchen is engaged to the pompous Count van den Budenmayer, but she finds herself drawn to Con, who in turn is smitten with her. Meanwhile, Kid falls for the charming chambermaid, Tina. As the story unfolds, the villagers discover that the windmill is haunted by the ghost of a former miller, who has left behind a treasure hidden in the mill. This sets off a madcap race to find the treasure, with everyone vying for the prize. Along the way, there are mistaken identities, romantic entanglements, and plenty of comic hijinks. The Red Mill was a popular musical comedy in its time, and it features a number of catchy songs, including ""Every Day is Ladies' Day with Me"" and ""The Streets of New York."" It has been revived several times over the years, and it remains a beloved classic of the musical theater genre. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
