The Pleasant Comedy of Old Fortunatus is a play written by Thomas Dekker in the 16th century. However, he is also cursed with a shortened lifespan. Old Fortunatus travels to various locations and interacts with a variety of characters, including a greedy emperor, a virtuous queen, and a group of mischievous fairies. The play explores themes of wealth, power, and morality, as well as the consequences of one's actions. It is a witty and entertaining work of Renaissance drama that continues to be performed and studied today.
