This book examines the ideology and social base of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood from its founding in 1945 to 1993. While there has been considerable discussion of contemporary Islamist organizations in Middle Eastern and Western literature, there has been insufficient attention devoted to the historical specificities of these movements in nation states.
