Dave is your typical 23-year-old all-Canadian wizard: he's close with his family, spends a great deal of time with his best friend, lives in an apartment with a room dedicated entirely to Pokémon and owns a restaurant in downtown Toronto. However, the course of his future will change forever when his ex-girlfriend, Kelly, reenters his life and resumes their relationship. Be they a bachelorette party that somehow gets transformed into a rousing sea battle with all the guests getting shanghaied by bloodthirsty pirates. To an attempt at a marriage proposal starting out in a beautiful garden surrounded by fairies and turning into a Gladiator-style struggle for survival against a minotaur. As well as Dave regaling them with tales of his and his sister's teenage years when, one year at school, they had to fight against a fearsome and great hydra, struggling their way through killer, sentient plant life and having to perform a harrowing escape during an intense cave collapse and dodging waves of boiling lava being thrown at them!
