The Homeric Hymns is a collection of ancient Greek hymns attributed to the poet Homer. These hymns were composed in the 7th and 6th centuries BC and were originally intended to be sung in praise of the gods and goddesses of the Greek pantheon. The hymns are written in dactylic hexameter, the same meter used in Homer's epics, the Iliad and the Odyssey.The Homeric Hymns consists of 33 hymns, each dedicated to a different deity. The first hymn is dedicated to Apollo, while the last is dedicated to Hestia.
