Divorcee, Phillip McKenzie, is a man obsessed with creating a video game like no other currently on the market. He has invested five years into its code and the release date is looming. Investors are screaming. Time is up. And the virus strikes. Phillip is dragged into the game-world and locked in a dungeon with one ultimatum, find a way for the virus to escape the confinement of the virtual world.

Secretly, the virus is in love with him and hopes he will join her and together they can rule the outside world.
But her advances, both sexual and power driven are rejected. She must look to the outside world for leverage.
And she finds it in the form of his daughter.

Struggling with life, Lisa uses virtual reality to lose herself. The arrival of free access to The Game from her father, together with the visor needed to play, gives her another avenue for escape.

However something dark is lurking in the game, a living virus, and when Lisa's brother Timmy is pulled into the VR World, she must play to save him.

With time running out, Phillip battles to overcome the virus, and Lisa with her small group of gamers fight to save Timmy's life and reach the end of The Game, where human and non-human will battle for reality.
