This book is a resource for Black Men who are educators, aspiring to be educators, thinking about going into education, supporters of education, or simply just going through life. You can apply the ideas and opinions that are given in this book to any occupation. This book keeps it 100. We dive into all the aspects of being a Black Man in education. The good, the bad, and the SHEEESH. I summarize my thoughts on being an educator and Black Man in this society.
During this time, there has been an extreme focus on mental health and as a Black Man speaking from experience there are not a lot of outlets for us. That's partially due to pride and also to our unwillingness to seek help. This book is to give Black Men some assurance that you're not alone and maybe some of the information in this book will give you some ideas on how to cope with it.
The statistics say that Black Men only amount to about 2% of the total number of teachers. We don't have a choice but to stick together and help those that come after us to be prepared.
This is my way of lifting as I climb.
