Shelby Good never thought that God's plan for her life would involve being a divorced, single mother struggling to get by. Being plunged into poverty with young children to care for she found herself feeling like, "What did I do to deserve this?"
Being married young and having no education or work skills, she was not prepared to support her family. When she turned to the church for emotional help, to her surprise, she no longer felt like she fit in. Lost and confused, she went on a search to find other people who could relate to her. She began leading a support group for separated and divorced Catholics, where others had experienced the same feelings of rejection as she had. Together, with other groups, they fought for their place in the church community.
In her new role as a leader in the church, she found herself and a new purpose for her life. This is a story of starting over amid pain and loneliness, building new relationships, enjoying life, and learning to trust again.
