They Awake On the day Jake Donner and his friends cycled to the old telephone exchange on the edge of the town of Faffingly, and all they can find is the creepy old caretaker. Disappointed they cycle home. But things are not what they seem as Alf Grimly sure the three are up to mischief, chases them off. Disappointed the three cycle home. Later Alf hears sounds in the old building and sure the boys have returned to torment him, goes in search to see. He could not imagine the horror about to be unleashed or how his life was about to change as on the top floor attic, the shadows awake from their long sleep, ready to hunt. This is only the beginning. Three months later and a TV news headline attracts Jake's attention. The caretaker from the old building and his wife have disappeared. He is intrigued, a mystery in his town and he has to track down leads. Unfortunately his friends are not so interested, but Jake decides to investigate. There are strange things happening in the old couple's home, not least the growing changing shadows on the floors and walls. Apart from their clothes there is no sign of the Grimleys. It is with the help of an ally, Inspector Felix Crane, that Jake sets about solving the puzzle until his friend Matt also disappears without trace. It's a race against time. Time that is running out for Matt. Where is he? Why have the shadows captured him? And is it possible with the aid of the new computer game The Numplis Directive that he can get him back?
