Chez les Pérelle, la passion pour la photo naturaliste, c'est une histoire de famille. Les premiers souvenirs de « photographe animalier » de Christophe remontent à l'époque où, encore en culotte courte, il accompagnait son père et ses oncles à travers les bois, pour écouter le brame du cerf, ou dans les marais salants à la rencontre de l'avocette ou de l'échasse. La photo, pour lui, est plus qu'un art, c'est un moyen d'observer, de sensibiliser et de protéger la nature. Ses images sont de vrais petits bonheurs visuels.

Quand ce n'est pas en Islande à la rencontre de l'avifaune ou du renard polaire ou en Finlande sur les traces des loups et des ours, c'est sur le sol normand que Stéphane Leroy consacre des jours entiers à observer la nature et à réaliser des photographies d'une rare splendeur. The passion for nature photography is a family story with the Pérelles. Christophe's first memories of being an animal photographer go back to the time when, still in short trousers, he accompanied his father and uncles through the woods to bear a stag's roar ; or, in the salt marshes looking for an Avocet or a Common Stilt. Photography, for him, is more than just an art ; it is a means to observe, to become aware of and to protect Nature. His photos are truly little visual gems.

When he's not in Iceland, searching for bird species or the Arctic Fax ; or, in Finland, after wolves and bears ; Stephane Leroy will spend entire days in Normandy observing nature and taking photos of a rare splendour. Demanding and creative, he is an environmentalist and lover of far-away lands and graphic arts, offering us images of striking beauty.
