When John Purcell went for a check up at his local GP's, he wasn't expecting to end up in a cardiac ward only hours later. Getting on in years but still as active as he was in his twenties, the words "blockages" and "bypasses" were a shock to all.
During his month long stay, he passed the days putting pen to paper and turning out this collection of poems about his time there, his family and just life in general.
Poetry from the Cardiac Ward is John's first published work.
