Quels rapports la philosophie entretient-elle avec la littérature ? Cette question n'est certes pas neuve, mais elle paraît s'imposer, tout particulièrement en France, comme un thème majeur de la pensée contemporaine. En partant ainsi du constat que les productions littéraires constituent, pour la philosophie, des objets de réflexion privilégiés, il convient de se demander selon quels types de préoccupation les philosophes s'y rapportent et, corrélativement, quel bénéfice leur discipline peut légitimement attendre d'une approche philosophiquement instruite des textes littéraires.
Ces deux aspects du problème sont ici analysés conjointement à partir de l'étude critique et de la confrontation de quelques positions philosophiques déterminées comme celles de Jacques Derrida, Gilles Deleuze, Paul Ricœur, Vincent Descombes, Alain Badiou ou Michel Foucault.
