Noah moved closer again, his 6'5 easily dwarfing her 5'10. Wearing her signature loafers made his height feel even more eclipsing to Yaz. She longed for a moment to drag her fingers through his curls and run the back of her hand down his flawless, to-die-for face. She recalled the words Candace had once used to describe him. Super gorgeous. Oh girl, she mused to her lost friend, that doesn't even come close.
"Tell me this isn't why you're pulling away from me. And before you speak," he said when her lips parted, "I won't believe it if you tell me it is."
Yaz clapped her hands to her sides. "Then what do you want me to say?"
"Say you'll see me tonight."
"Noah, tonight's just not a good-" It was all she had time to say before he'd covered the distance separating them and kissed her. Resistance never entered her mind. Yaz was an eager participant in the kiss. She welcomed his thrusting tongue as if famished for it. Desperately, she clutched the lapels of his navy suitcoat. She hardly registered Noah backing her against a nearby wall and taking her mouth with deeper, more possessive strokes. "Please wait…" she managed when he freed her mouth to drag his down her neck. "Wait…"
"Course I'll wait. I'm not taking you on a wall- not this one anyway…"
