Leonard Kessler has been creating books for children for the past fifty-five years. He has illustrated more than 200 books, many which he also wrote. He collaborated with his wife, Ethel, on forty books for young children. Three of Leonard Kessler's books have been named as the New York Times Ten Best Illustrated Books for Children. Leonard lived for many years in Rockland County, New York, and now lives in Sarasota, Florida. He has two grown children and four grandchildren.
