I am not a photographer, I don't have much technical expertise, and my equipment is not the most sophisticated; despite all this, the idea for a photography book recently manifested itself. This book has to come to life as a brief collection of images captured in my day-to-day life throughout the last several years here in Brazil. It is the result of an unpretentious activity that brings me great joy. The 89 moments photographed are not the fruit of a specific project, but a mere registry of shared elements that caught my eye during this time, coupled with some brief, slightly orthodox reflections. According to the Buddhist tradition, we are all enlightened, but simply not conscious of it. The great challenge to our awakening lies in the possibility of being present in the here and now. I will share my own path, which has been varied in its focus and vision, though always in search of a more holistic view of Life.

Não sou fotógrafo, não disponho lá de muita técnica, nem meu equipamento vem a ser o mais sofisticado - a despeito de tudo isso, recentemente surgiu a ideia para um livro de fotografias. Este livro vem a ser, então, um breve apanhado de imagens coletadas no meu cotidiano através dos últimos anos no Brasil, através de uma atividade despretensiosa que tem me proporcionado muita alegria. Os 89 instantes retratados não são fruto de um projeto específico, mas o mero registro e compartilhamento dos elementos que fisgaram meu olhar durante esse tempo, com o acréscimo de algumas breves reflexões muito pouco ortodoxas. Segundo a tradição Budista, somos todos já iluminados, apenas não temos consciência disso. O grande desafio para que possamos despertar reside na possibilidade de estarmos presentes aqui e agora. Vou falar um pouco do meu próprio caminho, que tem sido plural ao alternar distintos focos e olhares, mas sempre na busca por uma visão mais ampla da Vida.
