On dit habituellement que la foi en la résurrection n'est formulée dans l'Ancien Testament que dans les écrits les plus tardifs et que l'idée de résurrection est le fruit d'une réflexion récente. À l'opposé, Jésus ressuscité s'étonne que ses disciples soient lents à le reconnaître. Selon ses dires, toute la Loi et les Prophètes éclairent sa résurrection. Et si l'on prenait au sérieux ce que dit Jésus ? Et si toute l'Écriture parlait bien de résurrection ? L'auteur lit ici les Livres de Samuel en tant que texte fondateur de l'histoire messianique. Une quantité étonnante d'images, de scènes récurrentes, de termes présents dans les Évangiles trouvent en Samuel des racines profondes et repérables : les femmes comme annonciatrices de la vie, les itinéraires jalonnés de « tombeaux vides », les messies et leurs fils menacés de crucifixion, de transpercement, les pierres qui roulent, etc. L'auteur propose cette étude comme un « essai biblique » : son enquête procède sans a priori théologique, sans théorie herméneutique stricte au départ. Elle prend le parti que l'exhortation à lire les Écritures est possible, même pour ceux qui, comme les pèlerins d'Emmaüs, ont du mal à croire et n'ont pas de formation biblique spéciale. Elle tente de faire droit au Nouveau Testament quand il préconise la lecture de l'Ancien comme source, horizon, référent, et aussi comme clé de compréhension. -- People usually say that faith in the Resurrection is only expressed in the latest writings of the Old Testament and that the idea of resurrection is the fruit of more recent thinking. On the other hand, the risen Jesus is amazed that his disciples are so slow to recognise him. According to Him, all the Laws and the Prophets have already elucidated his resurrection. What if we were to take Jesus at his word? What if all the scriptures really do speak of resurrection? Here, the author reads the Books of Samuel as founding messianic texts. An amazing quantity of images, recurrent scenes, terms present in the Gospel have deep and identifiable roots in Samuel: women as the heralds of life, paths strewn with ‘empty tombs', messiahs and their sons threatened with crucifixion, bodies pierced by spears, stones rolling away, etc. The author proposes this study as a ‘biblical essay' his investigation does not proceed from any theological predisposition or initial strict hermeneutic theory. He adopts the attitude that it is possible to encourage people to read the Scriptures, even those who, like the pilgrims of Emmaus, have difficulty in believing and have no particular biblical training. Her goal is to justify the New Testament's recommendation to read the Old as a source, a horizon, a reference, and also as a key to understanding."
