En choisissant de réaliser ses clichés à partir de la nacelle d'un ballon dirigeable, Gérard Fayet, photographe humaniste et sensible, rend aussi hommage aux pionniers du vol habité, les frères Montgolfier. Il boucle ainsi la boucle avec André Borschberg, le préfacier de cet ouvrage, pilote de Solar Impulse, premier avion à avoir accompli un tour du monde exclusivement grâce à l'énergie solaire. Gérard Fayet et André Borschberg partagent un même rêve : montrer la splendeur mais aussi la fragilité de notre planète, et inciter à sa préservation en sortant des sentiers battus.

Gérard Fayet magnifies and reveals here the beautiful natural places and architectural treasures of a region with an exceptional past, the Loire valley. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Loire valley embodies, through its countless castles, the wonders that Man has been capable of over the centuries.

Working from the nacelle of an hot air balloon, Gérard Fayet, a humanist and sensitive photographer, also pays tribute to the pioneers of manned flight, the Montgolfier brothers. Thus, he loops the loop with André Borschberg, the preface writer, pilot of Solar Impulse, the first plane to have completed a round-the-world flight exclusively with solar energy. Gérard Fayet and André Borschberg share the same dream : to show the splendor but also the fragility of our planet, and to encourage its preservation by taking off the beaten tracks.
