The array of topics treated ranges from the reorganization of nominal categories and word-class systems to processes of grammaticalization and pragmaticalization or lexical reorganization as a window to socio-historical contexts. Since typological considerations serve as a framework for the microanalyses presented in this volume, possible converging zones stand out more clearly.
