Kletus is off to meet Kid, his main man, about playing on his new baseball team. Being Kid's best friend and all, and an excellent ballplayer in his own right he fully expects to be offered his choice of positions to play. Instead, Kid tells him he must accept the role of "Batboy". Kletus is like, "What? Batboy?! Are you...kidding me? That's not even a playing position!" Kletus ends up leaving the meeting grieved, totally gut-punched by the rejection of his best friend. On his way home he has a chance encounter with another friend who gives him the incentive he needs to pursue the matter, doing whatever he must to earn a spot on the team. Klete must learn to cope with fear, frustration and constant heckling, obstacles that ultimately lead to his relationship with Kid being at risk and, with that, go his chances of ever joining the team. The ending is an emotional one for both Kletus and Kid as they discover the heart of their relationship and what neither has admitted...until now!
