Here's what horse lovers are saying about Journeys with Horses:
"Writing from the perspective of a Grand Prix dressage rider who has walked the aisles of the horse world for over 40 years, Leslie McDonald provides us with an inside view of some of the horses and people inhabiting that world. In Journeys with Horses, we meet novice and competitive riders, grooms and breeders, top trainers and "horse husbands", even the organizer of a Horse Fair for over 40,000 spectators. Some chapters in the book are rich in equine history.
While there are stories of pain and frustration as well as stories of triumph and joy, readers will undoubtedly be left with the feeling that their own journeys with horses are well worth the ride." Colleen Rutherford Archer, Author, Deep River, Ontario, Canada.
"Clearly written by a true horseperson, with correct jargon and descriptions of breeds, disciplines, and venues, this book has stories about war heroes, little girls dreaming of ponies, The Temple Lipizzans, trail rides gone awry, and much more. I plan to give this to all my horsey friends! (and maybe some non-horsey ones too). Lydia Gray, Author of Classical Dressage Foundations with Wolfgang May.
"Leslie has a gift for pulling you into the story in record time making it feel like you are along for the ride as the story unfolds. Especially love chapter 13, a reminder to us all to open our minds and look beyond the surface. Wonderful and diverse story telling!" USDF Gold Medalist and Lusitano Breeder, Bellville, Texas.
"A book of poignant short stories that will resonate with those individuals who have experienced the joy, the mental and physical benefits of an equine partner. For others without a connection to horses, this book opens a door for glimpses on how their unconditional love affects people's lives in unique, positive ways!" Margaret Hevel, Freelance Author, Mount Vernon, Washington.
