Continuing on from the original Jacks Dits book, Jacks Dits 2 regales more unbelievable yarns, more hilarious jokes, interspersed with a further flurry of ditty's, quotes and oddities which will entertain and amuse.
Each of the dits contained within Jacks Dits 2 is commonly unique, in no way whatsoever, as I suspect they have all been told, re-told, enhanced, twisted, enriched, and altered to suit the moment and the audience.
These tales will have been told in many mess squares, bars, hostelries, and houses of ill repute frequented by Jack, Booties, Wafu's, and even the occasional Jenny, in just about every port around the world.
You could have heard them spoken, if only you had been there.
As before, Jacks Dits 2 is not a book which simply harks back in nostalgic fashion to the past, it is is an authentic validation, a genuine historical record of Royal Naval Social History. It is a true and genuine recording of life during the Royal Navy's heydays, the late 1950s through to the earlier part of the 1980s, as told by the voices of those who served.
I am privileged to record these tales, to share Jack's humour and his pride, in this book. It is a record future generations access, so they too can understand what being 'Jack' truly means to those who served, those who were there.
