I spent eighteen years waiting for the right man and time to lose my innocence. I thought my senior-year boyfriend was the one.

I was ready, and Freddie promised to make it happen. But then, a large shadow covered the car, and chaos ensued as the car rocked. Something or someone pulled Freddie from the driver's seat and out the window. His blood-curdling screams filled the night. I knew I was next and had to run for my life.

In the pitch darkness of the night, he appeared. Tall, dark, handsome, and evil.

He said he had been searching for me.

He took my innocence, my blood, and my life. He took the light of day from me, gave me everlasting darkness, and cursed me to live in the shadows with him.

He vowed his love for me and made me like him, a creature of the night.

Despite the monster he turned me into, I loved him.

I never knew more was waiting for me in the shadows and the darkness, his love and centuries of redemption. He was searching for a way to end the curse which made him a vampire. I would be the one to deliver our salvation.
