Squeals of delight. That's what happens when the students in Author Kimberly Stringer's Academy School go outside to play...especially when they get to blow bubbles. One day, one of the school helpers, Mrs. Edna, watched little Max as he managed to somehow swallow a bubble. His look of surprise and delight led to capturing the moment in poetry and illustrations. Educator and Author Kimberly was so inspired she wrote the verses in five minutes flat. She then collaborated with two other artists to capture the fun in illustrations. Now Mrs. Kimberly uses the book-which includes photos of all her students in her school-in order to spread fun and delight to other children and their parents.
This is one of several pre-school books written by Stringer for use in her classroom. Most of her other children's books have a moral or follow a curriculum developed by this longtime educator. However, I Swallowed a Bubble is just plain silly fun, with no lesson other than how to bust out in helpless giggles when you try to hold onto something as delicate as a bubble.
