The main character in "I Feel In Colours" uses colours to describe her emotions. She describes how sometimes she feels many colours (emotions) and that her "colours" can be mixed up; sometimes they are distinct from one another; and other times they blend together. The illustrations provide inferences to how the main character is feeling. This book invites parents/teachers to have conversations about emotions with children. It also gives space for parents/teachers and children to begin conversations about feelings and how they are unique to each person.
