Facsimiles of albums made to preserve Indigenous traditions in Venezuela
Archaeologist Hellmuth Straka (1922-87) settled in Maracaibo, Venezuela, in 1952. There he documented the region's Indigenous tribes. Filled with photographs, drawings and notes, they capture Straka's admiration for these people, whose rights he consistently advocated for while in Venezuela.
