Photos convey the reality of Britain's beleaguered fishing industry. Generations is a photographic portrayal of the men and women of Hastings, Britain's oldest beach-launched fishing community, spanning the 1990s to the present day. Compiled by photojournalist and Hastings resident John Cole, more than one hundred compelling, full-color photographs document life in a community that may soon become extinct. In the tradition of such classic photojournalists as Sebastiao Salgado, Don McCullin, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, Cole's images document the passing of a way of working that has been handed down through generations.
