The day the bombs fell, the life Kelsey knew came to an end. She is torn from the only person she can rely on and is forced to traverse the now dangerous country. Her goal is to reach the coast as the toxic fumes make the air inland uninhabitable. What Kelsey is not expecting, is to be blind-sided by a crew of traders that welcome her and her sister Chloe aboard their ship.
She thought that they were going to be safe...but when the captain demands more from her as repayment, she is forced to spend the next two years as nothing more than a slave. Chloe is the only reason she keeps going.
Finally, Kelsey makes a break for it, disappearing into the heart of Gale with her sister in tow, where she believes they will be safe at last. But not all is as it seems. Deadly enemies emerge from the shadows and threaten their new life. Kelsey must come to terms with her past and realize that not everyone was able to escape the bombs unscathed.
Will Isaac finally see her for who she is, or will she be cast to the side like she always has been?
Will she be able to accept herself and finally open up?
