Fated Journeys is the follow-on book to "Forever My Rose, where we met for the first time nurse Edith, sergeant major Joseph and a painter called Lawrence. It was set in Loughborough, Leicestershire initially and then the characters one by one made their way to France as WW1 was about to start.
In this new book Lawrence is now an elderly man and takes us back in time to when he first arrived in Loughborough, Leicestershire just before WW1.
He has been accepted into a university in London to study art. He comes to Loughborough because his good friend Henry lives here with his family and he does not want to be alone. His wife Francine has just died back in France and he has a young son, Christophe, to care for.
His dream has always been to be an artist; after he got married he put it out of his mind. However, when he was at his lowest point, a miracle happened, and he received a letter to say he had been accepted into university. He has to make a decision about this and decides to come to England.
While in England he sees a woman at the train station every Tuesday and is intrigued by her. He never speaks to her but there is an instant connection. He also catches up with his best friend Henry who tells Lawrence all about his journey and how a little girl called Edith helped him when he was being bullied by the headmaster at school. We learn about who Edith was and not only about her life, but how her life touched other people's and helped them in so many ways without her even realising.
The book is about is fate, how we come to meet people, how the forces of nature can bring us together and for a reason. We learn about how dreams can be manifested into a reality as well. When we think we can't go on and pray for help, our prayers are heard and give us the strength to move forward.
Throughout this book you will visit many places in Loughborough and each chapter has a specific message for you. You will see through my eyes what the town looked like back then and also the many trades that people had.
Faith, hope and trust runs throughout along with courage, love and compassion.
We also learn about spirituality and that two of the main characters have been born with a sixth sense.
I'm sure that after reading this book, you will also be able to identify your own 'Fated Journeys'.
Happy reading. Much Love Ann xx
