Every Kid Matters represents the intersectionality of storytelling and the best of psychology; promoting self-acceptance, diversity, and inclusion at an early age.
We follow a little African-American girl, NeeNee, with her brown skin and big hair as she struggles to make friends on the first day of school. We witness her struggles, along with those of a Mexican-American classmate, and those of a physically disabled classmate.
The story attempts to teach empathy and resilience, along with valuing diversity and inclusion. Meditation is demonstrated to teach self-soothing and emotional regulation.
Affirmations are taught to create healthy, positive neural pathways in the brain.
The goal of Every Kid Matters is to support the wellness of all children by teaching them at an early age how to value themselves and others.
