My first book with a real publisher had a very long gestation period. Problem was, I'd told a lot of people that it was coming out about a year and a half before it actually did. In the meantime, I took it upon myself to make these chapbooks. It was an attempt to get something out there, outside of the lit magazines. There were 50 copies of each of the three books. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it was a lot of work, and if I'd thought about what was actually involved in assembling the things, I never would have started.
I sold the sets cheap, so they went fast and they've been "out of print" for 15 years. This electronic book format seemed like a good excuse to re-release them. I resisted the temptation to re-write everything, so what you get here is what I put out there in 1996. Which is to say, not the most polished and beautiful work, but an honest snapshot of where I was as a young writer.
