Get ready for another fun romp with Bumpa and his grandchildren as they dance their way through another vibrant and lighthearted story, set in Grammy's sunny backyard.
Third in the "Bumpa and the Piggies" picture book series, "Wonderful Hair" was inspired by lyrics used in both the 1968 musical "Hair", and in a 1969 song of the same title by the Cowsills. The words were penned by James Rado and Gerome Ragni, and special permission was granted for the use of select portions contained within.
Hannah decides that Bumpa would be better off with a full head of hair, so she enlists the help of her sister, her cousins, and even The Piggies next door! Fueled by the joy of Bumpa and Grand-Pappy's enthusiasm, the girls sing their way towards a wonderful and color-filled finale that is sure to warm and inspire you.
Mike DeWald, a.k.a. - "Bumpa", wanted nothing more than to make all his granddaughters smile. He marveled at their imaginations as he listened to them giggle and play. He imagined himself writing a children's book that could capture those magical moments of their childhood and preserve them for all the children that would follow.
Jotting down his thoughts, Bumpa soon realized that he had something special. There wasn't just one story begging to be told, there was a whole series of "Bumpa and The Piggies" stories! And so it was, that Bumpa became the stuff of his dreams, a published children's book author...with smiling granddaughters.
