On December 25, as if it were a Christmas present, Netflix released The Bridgertons in its catalog: a romantic drama with touches of Jane Austen in a reinvented Regency England, not even because the nobility of the time was not biracial.
The series, created by Shondaland, producer of Shonda Rhimes (Grey's Anatomy, Scandal), meets many requirements to hook you: romance, intrigue, scandals, and a good dose of sex that has put its protagonists in the spotlight.
However, the books are not far behind, being Julia Quinn, the mastermind behind Bridgerton and author of the best sellers, credited with many accolades for her literary creations. The list of books created by Quinn is not at all short, and nothing more than the Bridgerton family has created a vast and complex universe, but without losing the charm of escapism and romanticism.
Both Rhimes and Quinn have big, long plans for the future regarding the family that we have not quickly grown attached to. But, without a doubt, we still have "Bridgerton" for a long time, making this topic relevant not only today but in the long term.
When you are done reading this book, you will have gained a lifetime of experience in just a few short hours. The stories are interesting to follow, and the challenging concepts have been made easy to understand. So get ready to broaden your horizons and adjust your expectations because you are in for one hell of a ride!
