April smiled. “We’ve decided to start a family.”

He sat there for a moment before the meaning of her words sank in. Then his brain started trying to figure out how he’d misheard her, because she couldn’t have said what he’d thought he’d heard. Finally, he came to the conclusion that he’d had a mini stroke.

“I’m sorry. What did you say?”

April laughed. “I think you heard her. To make it clear, we would deeply appreciate it if you would have sex with Lily until she gets pregnant.”
