ABOUT THE BOOK AND AUTHOR

Before Adam is a historical novel written by Jack London (1876-1916) and was first published in 1907. It originally appeared in serialized form in 1906 and 1907 in "Everybody's Magazine."

The novel is set in prehistoric times. It tells the story of a man who dreams he is living the life of an early hominid that is one of the Cave People in a land where there are also Fire People and Tree People.

Jack London was a prolific writer of novels, short stories, non-fiction, autobiographical memoirs, plays and more. Some of his most famous works include The Call of the Wild, White Fang, The Sea Wolf, The Iron Heel, Martin Eden and The People of the Abyss.
