Reminiscent of Bryce Courtenay's storytelling, Davidson's sweeping novel is attractive to a broad age group of male and female readers alike and will appeal to an international audience. It is a strength and a further appeal of Davidson's storytelling that it is not easy to 'pigeon-hole' his work into one specific genre.
