It all started one rainy Sunday afternoon back in the autumn of 2007. The doorbell rang and my Church Elder handed me a copy of the Blackbraes and Shieldhill Church of Scotland Magazine. She happened to mention how great it would be if more people would put a little article in, even if it was only a few words about themselves and their faith. I promised her I would write a small story about my faith for the next magazine which would be out at Christmas. At first I thought, "Oh dear, this is going to be much more difficult than I thought. What if I bore the readers to tears? How do you write something that is entertaining, but at the same time shows just how much God means to you and that he is always with you?" I prayed that night and asked God these very questions. Then of course, he stepped in and provided the answers. Just start writing. Don't worry. Be yourself and tell them all about it! After that, it was as if God took over and rather nervously, I emailed my first story to our magazine editor. The articles were very well received. They eventually asked me to write a regular column and I have had the pleasure of writing and submitting articles for the last ten years. Finally, my minister and a few people from the congregation suggested I should put all the stories and poems together into the form of a book which became "Andrew's View" and was published in 2015. Since then, I have had many requests from people to release another book and I have had great pleasure compiling more of the stories into this second volume .
