During an art lesson a precious diamond and sapphire ring belonging to Miss Smiley goes missing and Jodie, with a little divine intervention from Belle, tries to get to the bottom of what has happened to the ring. However, when she gets home after school she discovers that the missing ring has been put in her pencil case and she is rather shocked and confused by this. Jodie then sets out to discover who has hidden the ring and she is once again surprised by what she discovers nevertheless, she does her best to put everything right again. More revelations occur at the end of the story when Jodie gets to meet a new girl from next door who has just moved in called Connie.
