In a hospital, if we work with body fluids, we have gloves and self-protection routines in place. When we work with invisible energies, our self-protection routines have to be even more subtle and intetional.
To my eye, many healers and students working with energy, work with invisible energy un-safely. Shared here is what I've learned in my study and practice with Energy Medicine clients.
Adequate and sufficient psychic-self-protection is the goal. It's the art and science of having more clear boundaries between yourself and the negative energies clients are unburdening themselves of. The problem? "Energy Flows towards its releaser" says Mimi Castellanos. You do not want pollution or contamination of your field and body.
Working with clients' invisible negativity means practitioners must be more responsible for their own psychic-spiritual protection. It's challenging to be aware of our own openings to negativity when negativity comes off of clients wants to find a new "home."
The good news? We are less vulnerable from our neck-up because we are more awake-alert here. From the neck down, in our physical and etheric body, what we don't know and can't perceive can accumulate and make us sick. We have least wakefulness lower in our body and on the left side.

Each person determines these for themself individually. Then I have to ASK for the presence of this support at the start of every client sesson. Are you asking? Here are some ways to ask. Do the best you can. Effort counts. Practice.
Many varied self-protection ideas and exercises do exist. This book began from reviewing 17 books on psychic self protection available at the time. What struck me in looking at all these was I could find only one with a frequency of loving. This was John-Roger's book, Psychic Protection. I decided for me, I'm sticking with self-protection methods aligned with loving. The present book doesn't repeat John-Roger's exercises and ideas. It attempts to add to and expand possibilities aligned with loving.
This is primarily for persons already self-testing (old term: muscle testing), in some form, or who are willing to learn. For practitioners, I very much encourage trading time with a Healing Buddy to address unresolved disturbances.
