Rare are the Instances when reality turns into Imagination.

Veronika must have heard it many times, but somehow, she never understood its meaning. How could she? After all, there was nothing she ever deemed impossible. Nothing she ever thought impossible to achieve. She was a huntress before everything else and had been trained to be the best on every occasion. There was no space for error, not that she ever wanted to. That was the only thing Veronika could do to protect her mother. Her mother and - alas - save mere humans from the dangers of the cursed creatures. Their existence was a treat; that's what she has always believed.
But training to take a life and actually doing it are two different things. There was no space for sentimentalism in their job. And especially no time for brooding over the consequences. But for Veronika, finding the real monster is a task far more complex than she had ever expected. And for what's worthy, being one herself has never been specifically part of her plans.
All it takes is a single night. A single, unimaginable night to change all she ever believed and to answer a not-so-simple question: what is real, and where is the lie?
