A Fair Go refers to the opportunities that should be available to everyone, especially through learning. This book contains stories, accounts and descriptions of places, ideas and concerns which can excite and encourage learning.
The places and ideas describe and explore personal experience within a lifetime of engagement with learning and teaching. They include explorations of historic industrial places and beautiful landscapes which have provided a deeper understanding of the social reality in which we live.
We can learn in many different ways and places, many of them beyond the classroom, out there in the landscape, as well as from our experience and imagination.
There is a common theme which is the commitment to engage with democratic change and the need for equality and educational reform.
