Valik Putlova is a dragon shifter and council member. Having been the target of senseless violence years ago, he vowed to bring the hammer of justice down on those responsible just like his brother Krealik. With the battle's end in sight as the time to confront the dark coven approaches, Valik is excited to put an end to it all so he can settle into a life with his mate. Only, he has to find the man that belongs to the scent he caught in a crowded room before that can happen.

Riley Bell is a chipmunk shifter and one of many rescued from Carmine's labs. Having recovered from what was done to him, he's decided to put his medical training to use and help in the fight to dismantle Carmine's operation and put a stop to the dark coven's plan. Riley knows how to fight and would jump into the fray if necessary but he's content to sit on the sidelines and help those that have been injured. His life is good now, but it would be better if he had a mate to share it with.

With the fight looming both men have their work cut out for them to prepare. The question is, will they find their happily ever after among the chaos leading up to war or will they miss their chance?
